LETS BRING THE JOY OF MOVEMENT BACK INTO YOUR LIFE!

Together with focused intention and quality instruction, we offer an integrative approach to strength training, and post rehabilitative conditioning to decrease pain and tone, lengthen and sculpt your muscles, restore healthy movement patterns thereby increasing your quality of life.

WHY PILATES? WHY SHINE?

In today’s busy world, people are spending an average of 7.7 hours a day sitting at computers. It’s time to regain and reclaim your divine right to a healthy body. No matter what your size, your age, your history we can develop a personalized program for you. Pilates is an exercise system that uses specialized Pilates equipment, with a focus on breath and proper muscle alignment to create balance and control, improve flexibility and strengthen your core. It also tones and lengthens your muscles to improve your posture. Pilates teaches you to use the deeper layer of muscles that support you from the inside.

After 6 sessions, you will have a better awareness of your body, you will understand how your breath supports your body, you will be stronger and balanced in mind, body and spirit. Drawing on cues and techniques from the rehabilitative world Christina uses imagery, Pilates equipment to assist you, and mindful focus to reeducate your body and unwind bad movement habits. Whether you are an elite athlete trying to accelerate your performance, a retired boomer looking for a better low impact workout or someone recovering from an injury. We will be there to guide you.

CHRISTINA SPROULE CPT-PMA

OWNER, REHABILITATIVE PILATES PRACTITIONER

Christina was introduced to Pilates in 1999 while working at local Physical Therapy Clinic as a PT Aide. She dove in and received her first Pilates certification from The Method. A lifelong learner; in 2002 she was accepted into a specialized Rehabilitation Pilates Practitioner program through Polestar Institute, a program geared toward physical therapists. This course offered a broader science, anatomy and evidence based curriculum than the traditional Pilates methods. She started the first Pilates studio in Hood River and has worked with a variety of different clients and patient populations. In 2006–2009 she completed Stott Rehabilitation Pilates course. In 2009, Christina moved to British Columbia to raise her beautiful daughter, Freya, and has recently returned back to Hood River. She incorporates a variety of tools to support and challenge each individual to restore movement, reduce pain and re-educate the body and promote all over well-being.
